In honor of National Irish Food Day, and St. Patrick himself, here’s a quick wrap-up of a few of my favorite Irish-style recipes. And … just for fun, do you know the difference between a shamrock and a clover? 🍀 ☘️ Just like all bourbon is whiskey but not all whiskey is bourbon—all shamrocks are clovers, but not all clovers are shamrocks.
.
The shamrock represents the Holy Trinity, while the four-leaf clover represents faith, hope, love … and of course, luck.
Oh … and about the Irish stew—yes, I really did make it. And no I’m not giving you a recipe. Why? Because I don’t really have one. I can only tell you to brown the meat in a large Dutch oven then, well, you do you. I LOVE pearl onions and whole button mushrooms. And of course, peas added at the end are a must! Cook with a few cups of red wine so it reduces nicely … honestly, just Google it and then you mix and match what you like and don’t like and create your own masterpiece : )
